What happened between Eden Hazard and Antonio Rudiger after Chelsea Clash with Real Madrid

Eden Hazard’s Chelsea wish came true on Tuesday night.

The Belgian international left the Blues in the summer of 2019 as he completed a record-breaking transfer to Real Madrid and was always keen to face his former club.

“Chelsea and especially Chelsea fans will always be special to me and next season I will look for your results first,” Hazard said in 2019. “I hope that we are drawn against each other in the Champions League and every season so we can meet again.”

Well, after Real Madrid overcame Liverpool and Chelsea beat Porto in the quarter-final, the 30-year-old got his chance to face the Blues for the first time since his exit.

Named on the bench by Los Blancos boss Zinedine Zidane, Hazard was introduced to proceedings just after the hour mark as he replaced Vinicius Junior.

It was only the attacking midfielder’s second appearance across any competition since mid-March, but he showed flashes of the quality that endeared him to Chelsea supporters.

But luckily for Thomas Tuchel’s side, Hazard didn’t inflict any damage during his time on the pitch.

As a result, the Blues will head back to Stamford Bridge with a slight advantage as Christian Pulisic’s strike in the 1-1 draw has given them what could turn out to be the all-important away goal.

In truth, the stalemate was probably a fair result and that was reflected at the final whistle as both sets of players embraced.

Including Hazard, Antonio Rudiger as well as another ex-Chelsea player in Thibaut Courtois.

It’s not clear as to what was said, but it was certainly something amusing as the trio all smiled at the final whistle.

Both teams have important league games at the weekend, Chelsea have a west London derby against Fulham on Saturday evening, while Real Madrid are in action at home to Osasuna.
