The goalkeeper allowed his kids to run on the Stamford Bridge turf following his side’s 2-1 Premier League win, for probably the first time since he signed last October.
It was a wonderful sight for all to behold and some Blues fans could simply not hide their sentimental response.
Here’s how they reacted on Twitter:
king, we do not need another keeper we already have a world class one

Other than letting his children walk out onto the Bridge pitch, Mendy was largely underworked against Leicester yesterday.
Despite only managing three shots on target all game, the Foxes were still able to pierce Chelsea’s defence thanks to some sloppy play from Thomas Tuchel’s team.
That denied the Senegalese shot-stopper a 17th clean sheet in 30 English league appearances this season.
Tuchel recalled the 29-year-old to face Leicester, having allowed Kepa Arrizabalaga to start consecutive fixtures, including the FA Cup final.
Mendy will certainly hold onto his place for Chelsea’s remaining two contests of the campaign.
Last night’s win was massive in the race for Champions League qualification, but the job is not yet finished.
Defeat Aston Villa on Sunday and the Blues’ route into Europe shall be confirmed.
Lose at Villa Park and Tuchel might have to rely on others around them to complete the task at hand.
Overcoming Manchester City in the Champions League final is not an ideal way to confirm your place in next year’s competition.
