Real Madrid Have A Wealth Of Talent Up Front

With half of the transfer market still to go, Real Madrid have a clear oversubsciption up top. Taking Benzema as an indisputed starter, Carlo Ancelotti currently has ten players that will have to fight for places in the starting eleven.

Although the signing of Kylian Mbappe continues to be their main target this summer, it feels more unlikely that Real Madrid will be able to get his signing over the line against PSG’s refusal to let their star man go. The absence of the French star at Madrid will at least mean that one certain area in the squad isn’t made even bigger.

With departures out of the club almost grinding to a halt, Carlo Ancelotti will count on up to ten players to cover the front line next season, with the main problem that only one of them – Karim Benzema – is recognised as an out-and-out goalscorer.

With Brahim on his way out on loan to Milan, the manager will have in his attacking line, alongside Benzema: Bale, Hazard, Mariano, Vinicius, Rodrygo, Kubo, Lucas Vazquez, Jovic and Marco Asensio.

Some names, such as Japonese star Kubo, may also go out on loan, but the rest will either have a place in the squad guaranteed or be on their way out of Real Madrid. However, the club may struggle to find potential suitors, and those involved won’t necessarily be inclined to look for a move away from the Bernabeu themselves.

It is presumed that there won’t be many more movements between this names in the transfer market, at least for the moment. This will force ‘Carletto’ Ancelotti into a difficult decision over who will be Benzema’s strike partners up top, as the Frenchman appears to be the only attacker with a spot guaranteed in any theoretical eleven.
