Manchester United Have Been Given A Boost In Their Pursuit Of Eduardo Camavinga From Rennes

United are keen to recruit the 18-year-old, who is already a senior international in the French national team and who has caught the eye in Ligue 1.

Many regard Camavinga as the future of French football and some have even drawn comparisons to fellow countryman Paul Pogba.

With Ole Gunnar Solskjaer desperate to add another midfielder who can be deployed as a holding midfielder, Camavinga is on the United radar, though he’s also been linked with Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid.

And it seems United and other interested clubs have been given a boost in their pursuit of the 18-year-old with Rennes having identified a potential replacement for Camavinga.

According to GFFN, Rennes have opened talks with AZ Alkmaar’s Teun Koopmeiners.

Koopmeiners is a Dutch U21 international and captain of AZ Alkmaar. The 23-year-old is capable of playing in the same role as Camavinga.

With Camavinga, unwilling to sign a new contract, the interest in Koopmeiners suggests Rennes are preparing for a future without their 18-year-old teenage sensation and that could be music to the ears of United.

United’s interest is yet another confirmation of their change of recruitment strategy, focusing on the investment of youth following the arrival of Jadon Sancho and Amad in recent windows.
