AEW’s Orange Cassidy Has Possibly The Coolest Entrance In Wrestling Right Now

Cassidy, alongside his Best Friends teammates Chuck Taylor, Trent and Kris Statlander, gave Dynamite viewers an ending they’ll never forget when they won Arcade Anarchy in March and ‘Where Is My Mind?’, rang out through Daily’s Place.

Speaking exclusively to Digital Spy, Cassidy described how AEW CEO Tony Khan surprised him by purchasing the rights to the song.

“I always joked about having Jefferson Starship’s ‘Jane’ [Cassidy’s indie theme] as my entrance music again, because it’s probably one of the best ever entrance songs of all time,” Cassidy said.

“Then we just got talking about one night and [Khan] was like, ‘Well, if we can’t get that what would be another thing?’ and Chuck was with us too.

“So we were just kind of throwing songs around and [‘Where Is My Mind?’] is a sweet song too. It’s totally not professional wrestling, which is perfect.”

He added: “And then one day I got a phone call and Tony said, ‘Hey come meet me, I gotta talk to you about something’.

“And he just told me, he just did it, without me knowing. He just surprised me with it and now I get to saunter down to the ring to it.”

It was at the Arcade Anarchy match in March that Statlander officially joined the group, making her return to AEW after being out injured for nearly a year.

Speaking about Statlander being added to the group, Trent said: “Right at the beginning we were like, we should have her in with us.”

“But Tony said it would never happen on TV,” Taylor continued.

“He told that verbatim to Orange and I, because we were trying to make it happen on BTE and he’s like, ‘You guys have your fun, but that’ll never happen on TV’.”

The Best Friends have made their name with big gimmick matches, starting with their Parking Lot Brawl against Santana and Ortiz and then Arcade Anarchy against Miro and Kip Sabian.

Recently, the trio have had problems with Death Triangle (PAC, Rey Fénix and Penta El Zero Miedo) so what kind of a match would the Best Friends most like to have against Death Triangle?

“We were supposed to wrestle them in the Parking Lot Brawl, so I guess we could bring that back if we have to fight those dudes,” Taylor said.

Cassidy continued: “Instead of a parking lot, maybe we’ll fight in a barn or something. Or supermarket fight, let’s do that!”

Though it will be a while before Trent can make his AEW return as he’s currently recovering from neck surgery, when he does return, expect him to jump out of something in true Best Friends’ style.

“I’m already starting to work on the kitchen cabinet [Trent’s] going to jump out of for our Supermarket Sweep match,” Cassidy joked.
